Services for School, Daycare, Recreational, Residential, and Clinical Teams

ENG-Uni-Diversity Teams 2023.jpg

"Coaching is a process that aims to improve performance and focuses on the ‘here and now’ rather than on the distant past or future.

While there are many different models of coaching, here we are not considering the ‘coach as expert’ but, instead, the coach as a facilitator of learning.

There is a huge difference between teaching someone and helping them to learn. In coaching, fundamentally, the coach is helping the individual to improve their own performance: in other words, helping them to learn.

Good coaches believe that the individual always has the answer to their own problems but understands that they may need help to find the answer."

                                                                                Definition from: www.skillsyouneed.com/learn/coaching.html

My services specifically for school, daycare, recreational, residential and clinical teams meet your needs by providing targeted, practical support and solutions
for the everyday reality of educating, supporting or caring for someone else.

As a professional supporting someone who has a:

  • behavioural challenge

  • language or communication delay/disorder

  • physical or intellectual disability

  • neurodevelopmental disorder (autism, ADHD etc.)

  • medical condition,

  • neurocognitive disorder (Alzheimer's etc.)

  • loss of autonomy, or

  • other specific special need, condition or diagnosis,

           (or no diagnosis at all!),

it can sometimes be overwhelming to:

  • figure out exactly how to do what you need to do

  • know where to start when you've just received a diagnosis for someone in your care

  • approach crisis situations and difficult behaviour

  • understand neurodiverse perceptions

  • realistically apply techniques and strategies in the everyday routines

  • work together to meet the combined needs of individuals and groups

  • come up with new ideas for your toolbox, and

  • promote and/or maintain independence.

My approach is intended to be different.

It is designed to help untangle complex situations by finding the root of any issue or need, and then addresses it through tips, techniques and
resources that will help produce action for real change.

It considers the people providing support as much as those receiving,
and aims to effectively build understanding as well as skills, for both the supporters and the individuals requiring support.
