Why work with me?

No matter the age of your child(ren), your family member, or the person/people you're supporting, nor whether they have a diagnosis or not, here are some examples of situations that you may be experiencing right now:

  • you aren't sure how to meet the complex needs of your child, your loved one or the person you're supporting

  • your child, your family member, or the person in your care does have a specific diagnosis and you don't have a lot of information about it

  • you feel like you are missing something because you are not seeing progress or change

  • you have been trying various things for a long time but nothing seems to work

  • you feel overwhelmed

  • you have ideas but are unsure where to start with addressing certain situations or maybe you are out of ideas and need some new ones

  • you are meeting difficulties and you aren't sure why

  • you are facing specific issues that you aren't sure how to deal with

  • you have tried to use the recommendations that have been given to you by professionals but they just don't seem to work in your everyday life or you need help understanding the recommendations

  • you are having trouble balancing your own needs with the needs of your child, your family member, or the person in your care

  • you aren't sure what to do when your child, your family member, or the person in your care is exhibiting inappropriate or undesirable behaviour

  • you feel lost in trying to navigate the available supports and services, such as daycare, school or the public health system.

For Parents, Family members and Caregivers

My support is meant to help you untangle your experience of parenting or caring for someone else, in order to identify your authentic intentions and true needs, along with those of your child(ren),

your family member, or the person in your care.

Doing this, then facilitates the process of:

  • tailoring my support to what you need,

  • finding actionable strategies, and

  • implementing realistic solutions that work towards creating the reality that you desire.

For Professionals

Whether you are a professional providing a service to someone because they are young or aging, because they have a short term illness or a long term disability, or because they are experiencing a difficult situation, the commonality is that everyone has complex diverse needs, including you, the supporter.

In my 25 years of professional and personal experience both in the private and public systems, I have seen how very complicated it can be to provide individualized support. Often, services are offered in generalized application, which can result in the recommendation of strategies and tools that may only alleviate the situation rather than address the actual underlying need. Furthermore, even for professionals, it is not always clear how to integrate the recommended tools and methods on a day-to-day basis, and it can be hard to adapt and find things that actually work. Time and agin, I have seen this lead to a lack of progress and/or independence for the person who requires support, as well as to overwhelm and discouragement for the supporters, leaving everyone unsure what to do next.

My approach and services are intended to be different.

For Employers

In today's society, differences in skills, perspective, cultures and experiences are becoming more and more vast. Employers are required to take the lead in making changes to remove systemic barriers and create equitable environments. It’s about shifting from from old practices to new ones; embedding inclusion into hiring, policies, and everyday culture. This includes learning about neurodiversity and disability, and building neuroinclusion into the full employee journey: from hiring to training to retention. A focus on inclusive systems that improve experiences not only for neurodivergent employees, but for everyone in the workplace can make the entire process more successful for everyone.
