NEURODIVERSE* TEENS AND ADULTS
*In the context of my services, the term neurodiverse can include an official diagnosis of autism, ADHD, and/or other neurodevelopmental diagnosis,
or a suspected diagnosis of any of these, or personally identifying as having a different way of thinking and/or perspective.
My approach and services are intended to be different.
My approach is built on the foundation of:
-
consciousness
-
self-reflection
-
curiosity
-
willingness
-
understanding
-
respect
The purpose of my services specifically for neurodiverse teens and adults is to:
-
offer guidance to identify, understand and address your own needs
-
propose solutions that you feel comfortable using and that work
-
provide assistance that works towards creating the reality that you desire.
No matter whether you are in your early teens, well into your senior years, or anywhere in between, it can sometimes be overwhelming to:

-
clearly understand your individual internal neurodiverse perspective,
-
identify your personal strengths and the areas that you require support,
-
break down your needs into actionable steps,
-
decide how to target and work on a specific area or goal,
-
address difficult situations and behaviour patterns,
-
discover what services are available to help you in each area,
-
ensure self advocacy.
No matter what situation you are in,
I support you in the way that you need it most

Services for neurodiverse teens and adults
"Coaching is a process that aims to improve performance and focuses on the ‘here and now’ rather than on the distant past or future.
While there are many different models of coaching, here we are not considering the ‘coach as expert’ but, instead, the coach as a facilitator of learning.
There is a huge difference between teaching someone and helping them to learn. In coaching, fundamentally, the coach is helping the individual to improve their own performance: in other words, helping them to learn.
Good coaches believe that the individual always has the answer to their own problems but understands that they may need help to find the answer."

PERSONAL COACHING
My personal coaching service offers accompaniment based on a coaching model.

I work directly with you to understand your priorities and to determine your needs.
Together, we reflect on your personal goals, and compare those intentions
to what you are currenting experiencing in your day to day life.

TThis process is what allows me to provide specifically tailored recommendations that are meant to accompany you in making the changes that you are ready to make.

There are many ways that I provide accompaniment,
both in regards to session format as well as the strategies and techniques used.

Your tailored service can include both in person and online sessions, each with specific purposes and goals.
Sessions may implicate you alone, one or both of your parents,
or another caregiver or support person, based entirely on your personal situation.
PERSONAL CONSULTATIONS
Personal consultations are available online for teens (14 years and older) and adults in any location
on an as-needed basis, without requiring a needs assessment, to support you in your unique situation.
They provide opportunities for you to share your personal experience in a safe safe, with someone (that's me!) with over 25 years of personal and professional experience.
Together, we take time to reflect, exchange and brainstorm changes that you could try out, in relation to topics such as:

-
concepts and theories about learning and development in relation to neurodiversity and disabilities, and their applications to your situation
-
things that you find challenging in your day to day
-
applying professional recommendations, such as Speech and Language or Occupational Therapy strategies, into your reality
-
realistic, step-by-step approaches that you feel confident using on your own to address whatever circumstances you're facing
-
navigating the different public and private support systems (ie. CLSC, health services etc.)
RESOURCE SERVICE
The day to day life in society requires energy at every turn, not only for caring for oneself
but also to seek information and remain up to date on resources. Not to mention the energy required
for your work and your personal goals and relationships.

My individualized support offers you assistance in finding social and educational programs, residences and housing, job training, transportation training, leisure activities, protocols, procedure and laws relevant to your situation, available resources for your needs, and more.

I can also assist you with the paperwork required to gain access to resources.
LIVED EXPERIENCE
I feel strongly that one of the biggest hurdles for people on the autism spectrum,
is society's knowledge, or lack thereof, of autism.

One of my contributions to addressing this is through offering a space here on my website in which people can share their personal stories in relation to autism.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you would like to share your story.
