Respite

Sometimes you may need someone else to be in charge of the person in your care; to make phone calls, clean and organize, or run some errands. And sometimes you may need time to offer yourself some self love; to catch up on sleep, enjoy life's pleasures, spend time with a loved one or friend, attend an exercise class, or to simply do nothing!

No matter what your reason, the respite service offers you peace of mind so that you can do whatever it is that you need to do.

Whether your loved one has a communication delay/disorder, physical disability, neurodevelopmental disability (autism etc.), medical condition, neurocognitive disorder (Alzheimers etc.), behavioural challenge, loss of autonomy, or other specific special need, condition or diagnosis, this service is adapted to their needs through one of two categories.

Supervision Respite

I come directly to you*, and spend time with your loved one in your house, or in the community**.

I take responsibility for the basic needs of the person in your care for the duration of the session, and ensure their safety and enjoyment throughout.

 

Learning Respite

I come directly to you*, and spend time with your loved one in your house, or in the community**.

On top of taking responsibility for the basic needs of the person in your care for the duration of the session, I set goals to be worked on throughout.

A needs assessment completed together with you, determines areas in which I will incorporate natural and informal opportunities to practice skills in various areas including independence, gross and fine motor skills, self awareness, play skills, recreation and leisure, communication, emotional regulation, and more.
